Position Description

 

Division of Nephrology, Department of Paediatrics, Hospital for Sick Children

Effective immediately, a full-time permanent Academic Clinician faculty position is available in the Division of Nephrology, Department of Paediatrics, at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), 555 University Avenue, Toronto, ON which is a quaternary academic health science centre dedicated to the care of children; affiliated with the University of Toronto.

The division encompasses all aspects of paediatric nephrology, together with a large fellowship training program, as well a strong basic and clinical research portfolio / activities, and applicants will be expected to participate actively in the clinical, educational, and research activities of the program. In keeping with the job profile of an academic clinician, we are looking for a well-rounded physician with strong subspecialty training in paediatric nephrology, ideally with several years of clinical experience. Desirable areas of clinical expertise include dialysis/apheresis and diseases at the intersection of nephrology and rheumatology including lupus and vasculitis.  Evidence of excellence in teaching is required.

The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($227,391-321,812) will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance, and a relocation package.

All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English, hold an MD, MBBS or the equivalent thereto and be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
